A Letter to My Reader

Hey Truthful Reader. I am the voice behind
“A Voice Becoming”
I’m happy you’ve found your way here!
This space wasn’t created by accident.
It was born from a quiet place inside of me that had finally had enough of silencing myself, of shrinking who I am at my core & pretending I was okay when I wasn’t.
And if you’re here, reading this, then I believe a piece of you is ready too.!
I pray you’re
Ready to feel.
Ready to heal.
Ready to become.
This blog is more than a platform or a brand; it’s a sacred release. A place where words do the work of truth-telling and heart-clearing. A place for people like us, who still believe in softness, in growth, and in showing up especially when it’s hard.
The real start of this voice
my voice
was in the middle of deep heartbreak.
A young girl named Kayla Spivey, the daughter of a friend I’ve known for 30 years, was tragically taken from this world at the tender age of 16 years old. I was asked to speak at her funeral. I wrote her obituary. And somewhere between my grief and everyone else’s, a voice in me rose that said:
“Say what needs to be said Aaisha.”
That pain sparked this space.
This calling.
This clarity.
Along the way, my daughters and I found a mantra that sticks to our bones:
“Don’t touch me, I’m fragile.”
It’s not weakness! It’s awareness!
It’s a nod to our upbringing, a reclaiming of softness, and a reminder that boundaries are not just allowed, they’re necessary.
We say it in love. We say it in warning. We say it in truth.
If this space does anything, I hope it reminds you that you don’t have to be perfect to be powerful.
You don’t have to be healed to start healing others.
You just have to be willing to become.
You have to be ready to let go.
You must find confidence in who you will become because it will be unfamiliar and freeing.
This is a space for the voiceless.
For those working through generational pain, identity issues, confidence, motherhood, grief, womanhood, and still learning how to be soft and solid at the same time.
Here, we show up anyway.
Here, we let the light in, even through the cracks.
Here, we write it out so we can live it through.
So take your time. Stay as long as you’d like.
This is your space now, too.
I don’t know your name but feel free to tell me anyway! I am Aaisha.
Until next time…..
Truthfully Yours,
Aaisha Truth
